Angelica Petryshyn (b. 1990) was raised in Northern New Jersey. As a child she was fascinated with the spirit world and could often be found exploring empty lots and school yards after hours every summer. Her current work is influenced by her mother’s stories of the 1960’s, the Victorian-era occult, the macabre and folklore. At age 18 she purchased her first 35mm camera, and instantly fell in love with the medium as a means of expression.
In 2016, Angelica graduated from Maine Media College with a Certificate in Visual Storytelling. Her work has been featured at Soho Photo Gallery in NYC, Tilt Gallery in Arizona, Los Angeles Center of Photography in California, PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont, and PhoPa Gallery in Maine. Angelica also has an extensive background in graphic design and enjoys the art of handwriting.
